Montreal Side Ribs W/ Homemade BBQ Sauce

Ever experienced opening the freezer to see what you can cook, and you take something out and go "oh what the heck"? That happened to me this morning. I opened the freezer and saw a slab of side ribs and thought I'd experiment on it.

You see, I love cooking. But sometimes, you just run out of things to cook. And sometimes, the tastiest meals are created when you're having fun just going with your gut feel.

Montreal Side Ribs W/ Homemade BBQ Sauce

I don't measure when I cook so I'll just list down the ingredients.

Dry rub for ribs:
- Montreal Steak spice
- Brown sugar

Homemade BBQ Sauce:
- Catsup / Ketchup
- Mustard
- Worcestershire sauce
- Brown sugar
- Cooking oil

Procedure:
1. Boil ribs in water with onion (1 whole chopped in quarters) and black peppercorn. Leave it there until meat becomes tender.
2. Take them out once they're done. Rub a thin layer of Montreal Steak spice on all sides. Put a layer of brown sugar after and another thin layer of the Montreal Steak spice.
3. Put glad wrap or foil over the plate where your ribs are placed and keep them in the refrigerator to marinade for at least an hour (the longer you leave it in, the better).
4. Take them out after at least 30 minutes and brush the ribs with your barbecue sauce and put back in fridge.
5. Brush with more barbecue sauce while grilling.
6. Serve!

I served mine with celery sticks and pickled Pepperoncini peppers & corn on a cob.
